Overview

Employees use leave form to apply day off.

There are 4 configurable leave approval workflow at Admin > Leave Setting. The selected approval workflow determine who is responsible to approve employees’ leave request.

The 4 types of leave approval workflow are:

  1. Only manager is authorized to approve leave request.
    OnlyManagerCanApproveLeaveRequest

    • Default approval process for all instances.
    • Manager responsibles to take action on leave request submitted by employee.
  2. Both managers and substitute manager must approve leave request.

    • Manager and substitute manager responsible to take action on leave request submitted by employee.
    • Leave request is approved when both manager and substitute manager approved.
    • Leave request is rejected when either one of the manager or substitute manager rejected.
    • If the employee don’t have substitute manager, manager fully responsible on employee’s leave request.
  3. Either manager or substitute manager is authorized to approve leave request.

    • Manager and substitute manager responsible on employee leave request. However, only 1 of them need to take action.
    • Leave request is approved when either one of the manager or substitute manager approved.
    • Leave request is rejected when either one of the manager or substitute manager rejected.
    • If the employee don’t have substitute manager, manager fully responsible on employee’s leave request.
  4. Substitute manager is authorized to approve leave request when manager is on leave.

    • Manager responsible to take action on leave request submitted by employee.
    • When manager is on leave, substitute manager added into approval manager, where substitute manager can take action on leave request submitted by employee.
    • When manager and substitute manager are approval manager, either one of them need to take action.
    • If the employee don’t have substitute manager, manager fully responsible on employee’s leave request.

Fields Detail

Status Computed New – Newly created request by employee.
Pending Approval – Request is pending for approval.
Approved – Request approved.
Rejected – Request rejected.
Cancelled – Request cancelled either by employee or administrator.
Approver(s) Computed Person who is responsible to take approval action for the leave request.
Approved By Computed Person who approved the leave request.
Rejected By Computed Person who rejected the leave request.
Cancelled By Computed Person who cancelled the leave request.
Approval Method Computed Approval workflow method.
Leave Type Yes Select the leave type for this request.
Day Type Yes Full day – 1 day off. Utilization is 1 day.
1st half – Half day off on morning session. Utilization is 0.5 day.
2nd half – Half day off on afternoon session. Utilization is 0.5 day.
Date from Yes Start date of leave request.
Date To Yes End date of leave request.
Supporting Document Configurable Attach a file to support leave application. Eg: Medical Certification. Maximum 1 MB file size.
